JENNIFER GOODMAN
Jennifer Goodman studied Painting at RMIT and began exhibiting publicly after gaining the attention of John Buckley who included her work in the exhibition Recent Geometric Abstraction: Robert Jacks and Beyond, shown at John Buckley Fine Art in Prahran, 2000. Since then Goodman has held five extremely successful solo shows and has been included in many group shows.
Notably, she was awarded the City of Darebin La Trobe University Acquisitive Art Prize in 2007 and, in the same year, was shortlisted for the Stan and Maureen Duke Gold Coast Art Prize and the Banyule City Council Works on Paper Art Award. Her work continues to attract critical interest and, significantly, her recent inclusion in Sonia Payes’ Untitled. Portraits of Australian Artists placed her amongst some of Australia’s most respected artists. In the relatively short period she has been exhibiting, Goodman’s work has already found it’s way into public collections including Artbank, the Dr Joseph Brown Collection (a work which was subsequently gifted to the La Trobe University Art Museum), and the City of Darebin Art Collection. Her work is held in private and corporate collections around Australia.
